The Theoretical Chemistry Group at the Department of Chemistry IFM of the University of Torino is seeking candidates for a PhD studentship at the Doctoral School of Sciences and Innovative Technologies (Chemical and Materials Science).
The research involves development of theoretical quantum-mechanical and computational tools for the study of crystalline solids with the CRYSTAL code (www.crystal.unito.it).
The ideal candidates holds a M.Sc in chemistry, physics or materials science with a good background on quantum chemistry and solid state physical chemistry. Candidates should also be skilled in computer programming (Fortran90).
Salary is 16000 euro/year. Facilities are available (upon request) for lodging at the University Guest Houses.
