Two openings for postdoctoral researchers at the Centre for Theoretical and Computational Chemistry at the University of Tromsø

At the Centre for Theoretical and Computational Chemistry at the University of Tromsø, there are currently two openings for postdoctoral researchers (on respectively a two-year and a three-year contract) and an open position for a researcher on a 4 year contract. Please forward this mail to any candidates you think may have an interest in applying for these positions.

One of the postdoc positions is for a two-year period and is connected to the SURFINT project for the development and application of a method to model molecular properties at liquid surfaces and interfaces in order to study the effect of anisotropic solvation environment on the molecular properties and to design molecules with surface-sensitive molecular properties.

The second position is for a three-year period and the successful candidate is expected to work on the development of new computational methodology based on subsystem optimization using a perturbed atoms-in-molecules approach and/or new computational tools for the analytic calculation of (higher-order) molecular properties involving geometric and magnetic perturbations. Of particular interest to this latter project is the development of novel time-domain approaches.

For the research position, it is expected that the successful candidate has previous postdoctoral training. The successful applicant must be able to document scientific knowledge in the development and implementation quantum-chemical methodology, as well as the application of such methods on relevant chemical problems.
